Liminal Space // the space in-between

“A liminal space is the time between the ‘what was’ and the ‘next.’ It is a place of transition, a season of waiting, and not knowing. Liminal space is where all transformation takes place, if we learn to wait and let it form us.” (Cambridge Art Association)

Liminality is as much a state of the human mind as it is a particular place. Artists themselves enter a liminal state when they create. From this creative space, I am able to look in from outside and look out from inside and see the in-between. What I find is that the deeper in I go the more abstract the images and the less attached they are to time or place. They are simply what I see at the moment.
